Dementia Care at Home
This course is intended for family caregivers, relatives and friends of persons with dementia. The term “family caregiver” refers to those persons who care for relatives and their loved ones and are not formally paid for the service they render. Research has established that most care is provided by these family caregivers. One of the objectives of the Malta National Dementia Strategy 2013-2020, is to improve the quality of life of individuals living with dementia, their caregivers and family members.
This service is provided by St Vincent De Paul Long Term Care Facility, within the Ministry for Active Ageing.
Ageing with Affection: Encouraging Intimacy, Sexuality, and Connection
Active Ageing and Community Care is pleased to invite you to participate in our upcoming conference, “Ageing with Affection: Encouraging Intimacy, Sexuality, and Connection,” which will take place at the Westin Dragonara Resort, St. Julian’s, on Friday, 30th May 2025.
This conference aims to raise awareness about the evolving dynamics of relationships and intimacy as individuals age. Through a variety of panel discussions, research presentations, publications, and poster sessions, both local and international speakers will shed light on these important topics. The key objective is to emphasise the significance of acknowledging and understanding changes in affection and relationships during the ageing process. The conference will also focus on creating safe spaces for open dialogue between individuals, their loved ones, and healthcare professionals, while exploring ways to enhance local environments and services to better address these needs.
Please note that the Early Bird Fee is applicable until 30th March 2025.
For your reference, the Conference Programme is also attached.
We look forward to your participation.
