In 2022, a multidisciplinary clinic was inaugurated at Dar Padova, in Għajnsielem, Gozo to improve clinical services provided to the Gozitan elderly. The premises were renovated and equipped to be able to serve as a centre where these services are provided.

From this clinic, the elderly will be provided with various services which include:

• Blood Collection Service (Phlebotomy) – This service will be coordinated between Phlebotomy professionals and CommCare. This will be provided by nurses as needed;
• CommCare Service – Medical assistance service to the elderly in the comfort of their home;
• Continence Service – Assessment by professionals of complex cases of incontinence. This will be done in collaboration with the Ministry of Gozo;
• Dementia intervention Team – This team provides community service to people with dementia and their carers. A holistic assessment will be made of the situation of the person with dementia and of those who are taking care of them. These clients will continue to be assessed in their residences;
• Day Dementia Activity Centre – This service helps people with dementia who attend this centre by providing them with therapeutic activities. At the same time it is relieving some of the burden on their relatives;
• Psychotherapy Service – A service that provides psychological support to the elderly who are going through a difficult time as well as to the people who are taking care of them;
• Clinical Nutrition – A service that provides guidance to the elderly about the food suitable for them according to their health condition. This service will be provided in collaboration with Clinical Nutrition of the Mater Dei Hospital;
• Vascular Clinic – This service will include specialized visits by vascular surgeons, podiatrists and tissue viability nurses;
• Allied Health Service – various services that will be provided by podiatrists, occupational therapists and dietitians;
• Silver-T – a free transport service that will be provided to the elderly in Gozo. We are going to provide transport to those elderly who need to attend the appointment inside the clinic at Dar Padova, as well as transport to other essential places such as bank branches, and supermarkets.
• Night Shelter – This service offers shelter during the night to the elderly who live alone or who, for various reasons, feel unsafe in their home.
