EXPANDED RESPITE CARE SERVICES – BOOK YOUR OWN RESPITE BED
The Active Ageing and Community Care now offers eligible clients the flexibility to book their own respite bed directly with any OPSA-licensed long-term care home. This service is available at any time, not only when government respite beds are full, allowing clients and their families to choose based on location, preferred provider, or personal needs.
Once approved for respite care through the normal channels, clients may independently arrange their stay and must inform the Respite Care Unit within AACC in writing with the facility’s name, stay dates, and contact details. Reimbursement of up to €72 per night is provided for approved bookings within the annual limit of 63 days. Clients are fully responsible for the booking agreement and care arrangements with the selected facility.
